Kristen Starcher  
College & Career Coach | Career Certification Facilitator | Instructor

Kristen has her M.Ed in Counseling from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. Her undergraduate is from College of Wooster, Wooster, Ohio where she obtained her B.S. in Sociology, with a minor in Urban Studies and a concentration in Spanish.  She has been working with young adults college and career coaching for almost 15 years. She loves working with students and helping them navigate their future steps. She has helped students in every aspect of the college admission process, scholarship process, financial aid, picking schools, editing essays, helping students gain work, internships and job shadows.  She has arranged college fairs, virtual calls, college events, college and career field trips for her students.

She has received awards for her college and career work. A few have been the South Carolina ACT Champion of the Year, Catawba Region School Counselor of the Year and Catawba Region Career Specialist of the Year. She is a member of the Southern Association of College Admissions Counseling (SACAC) and the National Career Development Association (NCDA). She is a certified school counselor, a global career development facilitator (GCDF) and a global career development facilitator instructor (GCDFi). She has presented and been invited to speak at many conferences in South Carolina and nationally on her College and Career based Model.

Prior to the education arena, she worked with large corporations in their training, marketing and sales departments. She even interned at the US Embassy in Mauritius, Africa region. She studied at the University of Granada, Spain during her undergraduate degree.

Personally, she volunteers with her church in the children’s ministry, church outreaches and with her school’s YCI/FCA group.  She loves reading, hanging out and exploring with her 2 teenage girls and 2 dogs. She is very adventurous: loves traveling and trying new activities, food and events.
